Flag pole sponsorships help us add and maintain the flags that welcome visitors to Veterans Freedom Park and honor every branch of service.
Veterans Freedom Park offers a special opportunity to sponsor one of the flag poles that stand along the “Key to Freedom” walkway and throughout the park. Contributions from individuals, organizations, and businesses help us continue to grow the park and add unique features for future generations.
The cost to sponsor a flag pole is $2,500. Sponsors receive a permanent plaque attached to the pole, with wording of their choice (subject to approval). Plaques are meant to recognize support and cannot be used as advertising.
Some poles are already sponsored—such as the American flag pole sponsored by the City of Clare, and service flags sponsored by local veterans’ organizations—but several service flag poles remain available for sponsorship.

Your sponsorship becomes a lasting part of this story and a visible symbol of your commitment to honoring our veterans.
The Veterans Freedom Park is proud to announce the City of Clare has sponsored The American Flag pole, located in the ‘Key to Freedom’ walkway; at the entrance of the park. We are truly grateful for the efforts they have made in becoming a part of our history, and value our partnership! Thank you for seeing the importance that this park will bring to Central Michigan. The permanent plaque to be installed on the flag pole will read: This flagpole was purchased by the residents and business community of the city of clare in honor of all the great men and women of the State of Michigan who selflessly and honorably served our great nation as a member of the armed forces of the United States of America.
