Thank you for your interest in donating a memorial bench to the Veterans Freedom Park of Clare County.

The memorial bench is solid black granite with attached back in size 48 x 22 x 33.  The order will be placed after the agreement, application, and payment in full have been received and the application has been approved. The bench will be installed by staff within thirty days after the approval date. The donor will be notified that the bench is ready for public use. Veterans Freedom Park staff reserves the right to approve the content of the message on the bench, including the right to approve and reject names, messages and art work that are considered to be inappropriate, illegal or inconsistent with the mission and message associated with Veterans Freedom Park. Clare County or Veterans Freedom Park and its affiliates will not be responsible for replacement of the bench in the event of loss due to vandalism or acts of God.  The granite bench warranty is disclosed in detail on the ‘Patten Monument’ order form.

The total cost to donate a bench is $2495.00 (the cost of the bench, engraving and installation included in this price, any art work will be an extra charge, please see personalized list cost attached), an individual, family or group can donate a memorial bench in recognition of a veteran, in support of the Veterans Freedom Park or veteran’s organizations (note your donation is tax deductible). Advertisement will not be accepted. Due to the park design layout, there is currently an allocation of 23 benches. The park committee reserves the right to add additional benches at their discretion.

The bench will provide an opportunity for family and visitors to rest, reflect, observe, and educate themselves with the real meaning behind Veterans Freedom Park. A donor may request placement of a bench at a particular natural area, but the site and the specific location of the bench on the site will be determined by Veterans Freedom Park staff based on site-specific conditions and the number of benches already present on the site.

Clare County, Harrison MI/ Veterans Freedom Park Staff reserves the right to remove the bench if it is damaged or defaced and the right to relocate the bench if necessary for safety, environmental or land management reasons. The donor will be notified of the new location of the bench. The donor of the bench has full rights to have the bench removed from the park at any time, with written request. It will be the donor’s responsibility to have bench uninstalled and removed at their expense.
